Hexagram 55 for love
Hexagram 55 Plenty in love and relationships
Feng is thunder over fire, movement joined to clarity: lightning and thunder arriving together. For a relationship it names a time of fullness — the bond at its height. The judgment says the one who reaches it should not grieve and should be like the sun at noon; the Tuan adds that the sun at noon begins to decline. Abundance in love is real and it is a moment; shine fully while knowing that.
The lines are mostly about what gets in the way of the light. One and four are the good pairing, equals who should not try to outgrow each other. Two and three are darkness between people — the screen that keeps one partner from seeing the other, cured by sincerity at two and endured at three. Five draws the other's brilliance toward them and is praised for it. Six is the warning: a relationship so large and self-contained that no one is left inside it. A changing line in the lower trigram is about clarity between you; one in the upper trigram is about what fullness is doing to the bond.
The hexagram in brief
Thunder and lightning together: abundance. The king reaches it; no sorrow — be like the sun at noon. But the sun at noon begins to set: fullness is a moment, not a possession.
Use the peak to act and to be generous, and prepare for the natural decline without grief.
The judgment
豐:亨,王假之,勿憂,宜日中。Făng intimates progress and development. When a king has reached the point (which the name denotes) there is no occasion to be anxious (through fear of a change). Let him be as the sun at noon.
