Hexagram 26 for love
Hexagram 26 Great Accumulation in love and relationships
Da Chu is heaven held inside a mountain: enormous energy kept in and allowed to ripen. In a relationship this is the sign of strong feeling that is being restrained — by circumstances or by one partner's caution. The lower lines are the eager side being checked (stop, the carriage cannot go, then finally the good horses may run); the upper lines are the restraining side, and the hexagram praises restraint done early and gently: the board on the young bull's horns, the boar tamed without a fight.
For a question about love the hexagram says the bond has substance and the delay is not a refusal. The judgment's 'it is favourable not to eat at home' suggests a relationship that should not stay private forever but is not yet ready to be lived openly. A changing line in the lower trigram means your own impatience is what needs taming; one in the upper trigram asks how you are managing the other person's — lightly and early is best. The top line says the waiting is over.
The hexagram in brief
Heaven inside the mountain: great power held and stored. Firm correctness brings success; serve in public rather than eating at home, and the great river can be crossed.
Accumulate knowledge and strength by studying the past, restrain impulse until it is ripe, then act boldly.
The judgment
大畜:利貞,不家食吉,利涉大川。Under the conditions of Tâ Khû it will be advantageous to be firm and correct. (If its subject do not seek to) enjoy his revenues in his own family (without taking service at court), there will be good fortune. It will be advantageous for him to cross the great stream.
