Hexagram 63 for work
Hexagram 63 Already Crossed for work and career
At work Ji Ji is the finished project, the closed deal, the system that runs: every piece in place and nothing left to prove. The Great Image tells the superior person what to do with such a moment — 'think of trouble and guard against it beforehand' — and the Tuan explains why the Judgment promises only small success: when effort stops, disorder begins. The hexagram is less a reward than a maintenance manual.
The lines give its chapters. Line one brakes before expanding; line two waits for a lost means of access to return; line three is the one large undertaking still open, which takes three years and must not go to self-seekers; line four is the daily check for leaks; line five is the leader who sees that at the top a sincere small gesture outweighs a lavish one; the top line is overreach after the finish. A changing line in the lower trigram usually counsels restraint while the order is new; one in the upper trigram counsels vigilance and modesty while it is at its height.
The hexagram in brief
Water over fire, every line in its proper place: completion. Success in small matters; favourable to persevere — good at the start, disorder at the end if you relax.
The task is done; now guard it: fix small faults early, and think of trouble while things go well.
The judgment
既濟:亨,小利貞,初吉終亂。Kî Žî intimates progress and success in small matters. There will be advantage in being firm and correct. There has been good fortune in the beginning; there may be disorder in the end.
