Hexagram 63 for love
Hexagram 63 Already Crossed in love and relationships
Ji Ji is water over fire: the pot on the flame, each element where it does its work, every line in its proper place. In a relationship it is the bond that has arrived — the courtship over, the arrangement settled. The Judgment gives this its due and then its warning: 'success in small matters; good fortune at the beginning, disorder at the end.' Water above fire is also a state that cannot be left alone: if the balance shifts, one puts out the other.
So the lines are about tending rather than winning. Line one checks the urge to push further; line two waits out a passing coolness without pursuit; line four keeps the leak-rags ready while nothing is wrong; line five learns that at the peak a sincere small act outweighs a grand one. Line three is the one long campaign a settled bond may face, and the top line is the person who could not stop. A changing line in the lower trigram concerns restraint at the outset; one in the upper, vigilance at the height.
