爻辭 The line text

引吉,无咎,孚乃利用禴。

The second line, divided, shows its subject led forward (by his correlate). There will be good fortune, and freedom from error. There is entire sincerity, and in that case (even the small offerings of) the vernal sacrifice are acceptable.

Its symbolism
引吉无咎,中未變也。

'He is led forward; there will be good fortune, and freedom from error:'—(the virtue proper to) his central place has not undergone any change.

In plain words

Line two is 'drawn forward — good fortune, no blame; with sincerity, even the small summer offering is fitting' (引吉,無咎,孚乃利用禴). Yin, central and correct in Kun, it corresponds to the ruler at five and does not need to push: it is pulled into the gathering by the one above. The yue (禴) was the plainest of the seasonal sacrifices; the point is that sincerity makes a modest contribution sufficient. The small Image credits the good fortune to a centre that has not changed (中未變也) — the line keeps its own character while being drawn in, rather than dissolving into the crowd.

If this line is changing

Let yourself be drawn in by the person or cause that is pulling at you, and bring what little you have with sincerity; what matters is that you arrive unchanged.
